چکیده
The lifetime of the remnant produced by merger two neutron stars can provide a wealth information on equation state nuclear matter and processes leading to electromagnetic counterpart. Hence, it is essential determine when this shortest, corresponding has mass equal threshold mass, $M_{\rm th}$, prompt collapse black hole. We report results more than 360 simulations merging neutron-star binaries covering 40 different configurations differing in ratio spin primary. Using data, we have derived quasi-universal relation for th}$ expressed its dependence binary. new expression recovers Koeppel et al equal-mass, irrotational reveals that increase (decrease) $5\%~(10\%)$ spins aligned (anti-aligned) with orbital angular momentum provides evidence non-monotonic asymmetry system. Finally, extend unequal-masses spinning lower limits be set stellar radii once binary detected, illustrating how an unequal-mass, rapidly significantly constrain allowed values radii.

Dynamical Mass Ejection from Binary Neutron Star Mergers
We present fully general-relativistic simulations of binary neutron star mergers with a temperature and composition dependent nuclear equation of state. We study the dynamical mass ejection from both quasi-circular and dynamical-capture eccentric mergers. We systematically vary the level of our treatment of the microphysics to isolate the effects of neutrino cooling and heating and we compute t...

We present the results of 3D Newtonian SPH simulations of the merger of a neutron star binary. The microscopic properties of matter are described by the physical equation of state of Lattimer and Swesty (LS-EOS). To check the model dependence of the results we vary the resolution (∼ 21000 and ∼ 50000 particles), the equation of state (stiff and soft polytropes), the artificial viscosity scheme,...

We review the current status of studies of the coalescence of binary neutron star systems. We begin with a discussion of the formation channels of merging binaries and we discuss the most recent theoretical predictions for merger rates. Next, we turn to the quasi-equilibrium formalisms that are used to study binaries prior to the merger phase and to generate initial data for fully dynamical sim...
متن کاملThe Fate of Neutron Star Binary Mergers
Following merger, a neutron star (NS) binary can produce roughly one of three different outcomes: (1) a stable NS, (2) a black hole (BH), or (3) a supra-massive, rotationally-supported NS, which then collapses to a BH following angular momentum losses. Which of these fates occur and in what proportion has important implications for the electromagnetic transient associated with the mergers and t...
